Assembly line at a major car manufacturer
Before: As assembly work is done by hand, work speed may fluctuate. At times, a worker may not be able to keep up with the main assembly line and other workers may not need to be fully aware of the situation or the assembly pacing.
After: Install a signal tower showing the work progress. By making delays more apparent, awareness at the work site is improved, and supply delays are reduced. The cart travels on rails, and requires a button to send it to the following process. As the button is pressed, the signal tower is automatically reset.
